A French slate mantel clock. A black slate case with stepped base and gilt decoration to the front. A brass bezel surrounding the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and 'moon' hands. A French 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a bell. Circa 1885.
