Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1850s.
Each with a swagged vase finial, topped with flames, above a body, half rounded and tapering. Decorated in the classical manner with draped flutes, leaves and a medallion collar. The flutes gathered at the bottom with a ribbon and laurel band, finished with laurel leaf finial.
The whole with a very attractive patinated ormolu, the casting chased and well finished.
Date c 1850.
Height 18 inches, width 11 1/2 inches, depth 6 1/2 inches.
