Description

A Pair of 19th Century Gilt Bronze, Ormolu Wall Sconces.

Each with a swagged vase finial, topped with flames, above a body, half rounded and tapering. Decorated in the classical manner with draped flutes, leaves and a medallion collar. The flutes gathered at the bottom with a ribbon and laurel band, finished with laurel leaf finial. The pairs of arms emerging from the leaves fothe body, sweeping upward within leaf edges, to fluted circular drip pans, and leaf cast candle holders.

The whole with a very attractive patinated ormolu, the casting chased and well finished.

Date c 1850.
