Pair of 18th C Candlesticks

Description

A Pair of 18th Century Gilt Brass Candlesticks.

Each with a lift out drip pan, with a scallop edge rim, fitting within the hexagonal candle holders, with a stepped tapering underside, resting on the triangular stems, each decorated in rising arcaded panels, emerging from shells. The stems finished with a knopped socle, the whole resting on bell shaped bases, cast in panels, stepped toward the edges, and finished with a scalloped foot rim. A wonderful skin and patination.

Date c 1770.
