A rather handsome Chinese Guangxu period pottery censer in the form of a strong and fearsome lion dog c.1880, his head acting as the censers cover, his teeth showing with gaping mouth a protruding tongue. The censer is finished with vivid green glaze and is in excellent overall condition standing 5 ½ inches tall.
