The square sectioned stretchers form a rectangular under carriage. The seat is solid beautifully grained oak. The back has angular finials, which retain the original paint, a dentil cresting rail and wonderfully carved panel with original painted decoration, the focal point is a military figure enclosed in a laurel wreath, flanked by stylised fish, fruit baskets and scrolling decoration. The chair has traditional pegged joints and is in excellent condition, sturdy and solid. The colour and patina are excellent.
A rare antique side chair that would make a statement in any interior.
