Fine Quality 10 Inch Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma Vase

A splendid Japanese Meiji period satsuma pottery vase with cobalt blue ground and two panels around the body each beautifully hand painted, gilded & enamelled, one depicting three Bijin under a cherry blossom tree teaching a young apprentice, the other two farmers carrying tools through a landscape scene. This fine satsuma vase is finished with intricate gilt decoration on side panels, around the bottom border and up the neck with red and turquoise enamel highlights in Paulownia flowers and two ho-ho birds in flight. It is signed on the underside and is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration & minimal rubbing to gilding and stands 10 inches tall.
