Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The beautifully-figured top, with its bead-and-dart moulding opens to reveal the maroon baize-lined interior, whilst the frieze is decorated with applied 'panels' and further bead-and-dart moulding to the lower edge.
A stunning table! 36ins wide; 17ins deep; 29ins high.
A very similar card table is illustrated in "Gillows of Lancaster and London" by Susan Stuart, Vol 1 page 262 and a table with an identical base is illustrated in Vol 2 page 376.
