A gents Hampden wrist watch, circa 1950.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, a Buser 25 with 17 jewels. Hampden Watch Company were based in Chicago and they imported movements from Switzerland. The movement is working nicely. In the photo, there are two empty screw holes visible… these are designed for holding the movement in a round case, they are not required for the square cased model.

The watch itself measures 24.5mm wide excluding the winding crown, and 24mm high excluding the lugs… it would suit a slim to medium wrist. The case is 10k gold filled and the front of the watch is in good condition; there are a few scratches to the back of the watch.

The convex lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has some darkening but still easy to read the time.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
