W.W. PENN: a good documented OIL PAINTING on canvas of "Lake Lugano".

This attractive landscape depicrs a small town on Lake Lugano in Northern Italy with fishing boats in the foreground and mountains behind. Inscribed in some detail on the reverse and fully signed and dated 1956 (lower right). Further documentation available. 33ins x 19.5ins (84 x 49.5cms) incl the good frame.

***William Wilthieu FENN (fl 1848 - d.1906): a landscape painter who exhibited at the RA 1848-1865, including views on the Sussex; Dorset and Devon coats. He made a visit to Northern Italy, the results of which were exhibited at the RA; BI and SS in the mid-1850's. He lived in London.
