A charming mid/late 19th century Japanese Meiji period BRONZE VASE... Cast in the form of a section of bamboo, this is beautifully inlaid and applied with silver bamboo stems and leaves. Hand-engraved signature to the reverse. 6ins high; 2ins diameter.

***The Meiji period extended from 1868 until 1912 and represented the first half of the Empire of Japan during which Japanese society moved from being feudal to its modern form.
