17th. Century Carved Oak Coffer. Circa 1660

Description

Fine early oak boarded coffer or gun chest of unusual construction, with carved panels to front, cut out ends with chip carved corners, and having plain lid. Still retains its original pin hinges, but lock missing. All in fine original condition with only a couple of minor repairs. Wonderful rich dark colour with superb waxed patina. It glows!!
