Superb Snooker Scoreboard Cabinet by Burroughes & Watts

1900 - 1920
Description

A very unusual Chippendale style snooker cabinet by Burroughes & Watts of 19, Soho Square, London and reputedly removed from Cawston Manor, Norfolk at the outbreak of W.W.II.

The cabinet is made from good quality mahogany and has a removable moulded cornice with blind fret decoration. The 2 folding doors each with 6 moulded and fielded panels with 2 conforming side doors each have interior fittings to house 5 snooker or pool cues. The main doors fold back to reveal the well fitted interior consisting of a superb scoreboard having turned ivory knobs and markers with a slate chalk board above a small cupboard which can accomodate a full set of snooker balls. Below are 2 mahogany lined drawers with brass swan neck handles and a large 2 door storage cupboard. The whole stands on a blind fret base with 4 square legs and supporting open corner brackets. Condition - Very good with working locks and keys. Sizes:- Height...77.5''/ 197cm. Width...55''/ 140cm. Max.Depth..17.5''/ 197cm.
