A Rare Female Silversmith Arts & Crafts Silver Spoon.

A gorgeous Arts & Crafts silver teaspoon by a rare female silversmith. Joyce Rosemary Himsworth worked with her father Joseph Beeston Himsworth, making small spoons and items of jewellery. She went on to study at Sheffield School of Art, focusing on jewellery manufacture and enamelling.

Himsworth became a member of the Sheffield Art Crafts Guild and the Red Rose Guild. In 1925 Joyce and her father created and registered their own hallmark, which contained both sets of their initials. Retiring in the 1960's her items are now widely sought after for their high quality of design and craftsmanship. This quality example has a hammered bowl and a shank embossed with a leaf and cabochon .
