Scottish Georgian Mahogany Longcase Clock. Circa 1785

Description

Superb Scottish George III figured mahogany finely proportioned longcase or grandfather clock with 8 day striking movement by renown Edinburgh maker George Monro, having fine brass and silvered dial. The case with cross-banding to door and base and with blind fret decoration to hood. The case is in fine original condition with only a couple of very minor repairs. It is a lovely rich deep colour with fine waxed patina. The movement has been recently fully overhauled and is in perfect working order and belongs to case. Comes with all keys. A very fine example of Scottish mahogany longcase clock.

Size; 83" high, 17" wide at hood, 10" deep at hood. 12" dial.
