This is a wonderful and complete set of Victorian Flatware, comprising 24 Desert Knives and 24 Desert Forks and a large serving Fork and Knife presented on removable trays in the original Maple Canteen
The embossed handles are very much in the Art Nouveau style with softly twining, scrolling Acanthus leaves and a shell decoration, the etched knife blades and the tines if the forks are also decorated with stylised fruits
This is a superb rare set, the set has been treasured and used, the handles show little or no sign of wear however some of the knife blades and the tines of the forks are a little scratched due to use but they are still in good attractive condition
The set comes in its original red baize lined blonde Sycamore Canteen, it has an unused brass shield plaque on the top and it has a working lock and key
