Wedgwood Blue Jasper Dip Jar and Cover with Classical Figures Making Offerings Beside a Sacrificial Altar

Description

A Wedgwood blue jasper dip jar and cover, circa 1905, decorated with a continuous scene of classical figures including Flora beside a flaming sacrificial altar with others carrying offerings including Pomania carrying a basket of fruit, Antonia bearing an urn, with putto and cherubs in attendance amidst trees and baskets of flowers, the lid with oak leaf and acorn decoration and an acorn finial. Impressed WEDGWOOD mark to base.

15cm high include lid and finial, the jar itself 10.5cm high and 10.5cm wide.

In excellent condition, two very small (one is tiny) chips to the inside rim of the lid.
