Hand of Glory has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
With brass studded detailing in the form of a diamond motif above the doors and the date 1863 below. The sides are of panelled construction and the interior is later fitted with a shelf and hanging bar.

Could be used as a traditional armoire by adding more internal shelves but it is also deep enough to be used for hanging coats.
Although the armoire is dated 1863 it is very likely of an earlier date with the brass detailing a later addition. Given the decoration to the brass escutcheons it is possibly of ecclesiastical origin.
