Description

A good quality carved oak, settle, hall seat or monk's bench. The back having a wonderful carved panel with an interior scene of an 17th C. male figure joining a maiden sitting at a table. To either side are further panels of carved heads wearing medieval iron helmets. The seat can be lifted to reveal a useful storage area and the carved arm supports are in the form of mythical dragons. The base with further decorative carving and solid end supports. Circa 1880 and in good original condition. Dimensions :- Height…36’’/ 91.5cm. Width…56.25’’/ 143cm. Depth…19’’/ 48cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £65.
