In all the 38 years of buying , restoring and selling antique clocks we have not had a series 1, Jean Paul Garnier carriage clock with ''Chaffcutter'' escapement. This clock is a survivor! There is much written about Monsieur Garnier in the book about Carriage clocks written by C.Allix. This fine clock is currently in careful restoration. The back plate is stamped with Paul Garnier, Hor Du Roi, Paris. It is bell striking, has an early ''one piece'' case with ''water silk dial''.
