Description

A French made brass striking carriage clock. Chapter ring signed ' A. Stowell & Co, Boston'. A Stowell of Boston, Massachusetts, USA are recorded as working 1865-1904. A gilt surround to the enamel chapter ring with Arabic numerals. Decorative blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a gong. The original lever escapement. Circa 1890.
