In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The seat has been newly upholstered in a good quality fabric with a light blue floral design on a cream background.
It is in very good condition for its age. The new upholstery is clean and tidy and the wood has a beautiful rich grain and has been waxed to retain its natural aged patina. There is a small old chip on one of the discs on the frame but it isn't detrimental. The wood is free from any major knocks or splits and is overall a good sturdy construction. It displays beautifully and is ready for the home.
