Description

A splendid and handsome French rosewood bookcase from the 19th century. Of very good construction with beautiful rosewood veneers onto a solid mahogany carcas. The bookcase is decorated throughout with inlaid brass detailing, it is inset with brass fluting and banding as well as with intricate floral panels. There are a pair of 3/4 glazed doors (lockable key supplied) which open to access an interior with 3 adjustable shelves. The whole piece is surmounted by a splendid cornice , complete with turned finials. We have had this piece sympathetically repolished in our workshops to a very high standard. It is now offered for sale in excel;lent condition with a wonderful colour and patina.
