A fine Japanese Edo period boxwood netsuke c.1770 depicting a man wearing a robe carrying a makeshift basket tied around his head. This charming netsuke has a lovely rich patina and two himotoshi on the man’s back, apart from to minor age-related scuffs on the head the netsuke is in excellent condition measuring 2 ½ inches in length.
