It is signed in the lower left hand corner bearing an indistinct inscription which appears to read S.Moller (German Surname).
Dutch, North German (also Möller), and Danish (Møller): occupational name for a miller. See also Moeller. In the form Moller, this name is established from the Netherlands to Poland. It is also found in Sweden (Möller), where it is of either German or Danish origin, and in Norway, where it is of Danish origin.

Artist Everett Watson Mellor who was the son of noted artist William Mellor.
The painting depicts the still waters of a lake which is almost in a bowl, surround by tree covered slopes apart from a grassy slope in the centre. It is a bright sunny day, and the waters of the lake are still and show the reflection of the landscape superbly.

The painting is framed in a 3 1/4" ornate, swept gilt frame and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

CONDITION

Very good. There are no repairs to the canvas, which is clean and taut, with no craquelure, stretcher marks or paint loss. The frame is also in very good condition.
