Elmgarden has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
There are nine drawers in all each of which has a Carved Lions Mask handle, or perhaps it is the green man, the top of the desk has an inset brown tooled leather and a deeply carved moulded edge which matches the carving on the pedestal bases, the sides and back of the desk are panelled, so it looks good when viewed from all sides
The desk is in very good condition for its age, just a few marks on the leather, this is an unusual piece to come across and it would work very well in a study or in fact any room
The desk is 48” long, 27” deep and 32” high and the knee hole is 17” wide and 23.5” high
