A splendid pair of Japanese Meiji period satsuma porcelain Gu-shaped vases, finely painted & gilded with woman and children amongst flowers and bamboo shoots, protected by a moulded dragon on each vase, the dragons flying in opposite directions. Both vases are signed on the underside and show typical minor wear to the gilding, one vase has a very minor chip to the foot.
