A rare find, I wish I could find one of these every week!

This Edwardian novelty letter opener has a terminal made from sterling silver in the form of an owl both back and front. This beautifully executed owl retains all four or his original glass eyes. The silver owl is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1908 together with the makers mark for the well renowned silversmith, Crisford and Norris.

The blade is made from English Stainless steel marked "Stainless Steel, Sheffield, England".

Charming and very usable in excellent condition measuring 7 5/8" in length x 1" wide x 3/4" deep.
