A 1930s Moeris Art Deco Pocket Watch

Description

A 1930s Moeris Art Deco pocket watch.

Moeris began in 1883 under the name Moeri & Jeanneret in St Imier, Switzerland. This company was subsequently dissolved in be replaced in 1900 with Moeris Fritz. The company traded very successfully and were commissioned by the British War Office to supply GSTP military watches for the second World War.

This particular watch has a signed 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch itself measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 900 Continental silver and it has a stylish Art Deco pattern with a Greek key design around the rim of the front and back. Both the case and the glass lens are in good condition.

The signed dial is in beautiful condition with nicely shaped hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
