Description

Arthur John Trevor Briscoe, A view of Hoorn Harbour with moored sailing vessels, watercolour, signed, inscribed 'Horn' and dated 1910.

Within original glazed wide gilt frame with framers label for "The Old Gold Palette" H.W. TAYLOR & CO, Picture Frame manufacturers, 61 Queen road, Bayswater, London W.

Image size: 26cm x 36cm, Including Frame: 48.5cm x 59cm.

In good condition overall, some very slight grubbiness to the paper and slight foxing, particularly to the sky top left. Unexamined out of the frame.

Arthur John Trevor Briscoe was born in Birkenhead in 1873. He studied at the Academie Julian in Paris and The Slade School in London. A keen Yachtsman, most of his watercolours are of nautical scenes.
