Description

A truly exceptional pair of French ebonised Napoleon III boulle side cabinets inlaid with brass and tortoise shell. The Cabinets have a double brass string inlay to the side and fronts and exceptionally good quality gilt bronze acathus leaf mouldings. The sides of the cabinets have very impressive Hercules with Nemean lion skin masks with decorative corner mounts. The front of the Cabinets have a beautifully inlaid boulle door with superb mounts of the demigod of the sea, Triton.

Inside the Cabinets show a true sign of quality as they are finished with king wood veneer and double brass string inlay to the front of the shelves. They also retain their original locks and keys which are in full working order.

The Cabinets have their original black slate polished marble tops and the backs of the cabinets are stamped several times number 1 and number 2.
