1947 Silver Smiths Pocket Watch, Made in England

1920 - 1940
Description

A 1947 silver Smiths pocket watch, made in England.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover upon which is a long service engraving from ICI.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Birmingham 1947, with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison who made cases for many watch companies. The case is in good condition and the engine turned detail to the back is still nice and crisp.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has darkened with age and there is some crazing. Blued steel hands, a numbered subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
