Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1870s.

The stand is heavy weight, really superb quality and fully marked for the well renowned silversmith, Thomas Prime; Thomas Prime exhibited at the London Great Exhibition of 1851, the Paris Exhibition of 1855 and the International Exhibition (London) 1862.

The central column is decorated with leaves and rises to the handle to the top; both sides of the little oval cartouche to the top has a tiny English design registration diamond shaped lozenge, reserved for items of particular note; being a lozenge rather than a number allows us to date to pre-1884.
The stand sits on four decorative scroll feet with engraved panels above.
Superb in every way and in excellent condition. Overall the stand and bowls measure 10" across x 4 1/2" x 8 1/2" tall.
