Description

Superb quality late Georgian mahogany chest of drawers c.1810. Flame mahogany veneered top, crossbanded border with satinwood and boxwood stringing all laid onto solid oak groundwork with an applied mahogany moulding. Over two short and three long drawers of graduated depth each retaining their original brass handles and escutcheon plates. Unusually the drawer fronts have mahogany veneers laid onto solid walnut, whilst the sides are in oak with pine bases. The chest has solid mahogany sides, original mouldings around the base and is raised on the original bracket feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
