19th Century Anglo Indian Carved Gilt Wood Slipper Chair

A very pretty, profusely carved mid 19th century Anglo Indian chair.
 
c1850.
 
Wonderful foliate pierced carved decoration, having undulating leaves and foliage.
 
The circular seat is over boldly carved scroll forelegs, with out-swept back supports.
 
Covered with a pink velour fabric.
 
Made from tropical hardwood, making the chair surprisingly heavy because of the density of the hardwood. With a gilt finish.
 
A delightful and rare little chair.
 
In excellent antique condition, solid, sturdy and strong. Nice patination to the gold painted finish.
 
The dimensions are.
 
Height-69.5cm. Height to top of seat-35cm.
 
Width- 55cm. Width of seat approx-50cm.
 
Depth-62cm. Depth of seat approx-48cm.
