~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A large and stunning ormolu and Sèvres style porcelain clock set. The original finely gilded bronze is in excellent condition with exquisitely painted porcelain panels and urns featuring a young couple in a country landscape. The panel on the front of the clock shows him serenading her with a lute. He sends a love letter on one urn and she receives it on the other. The dial and the clock's urn show a tranquil country scene. The style is Baroque with goddess mask, mythical creatures and paw feet.

The French movement is by A. D. Mougin and is of high quality. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. There is a video clip on our website showing the clock running.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright and in excellent condition. The porcelain is in excellent condition, there is an old area of restoration to the clock's urn but is otherwise in lovely condition. One sconce insert has a repair.

A. D. Mougin clockmaker's mark on the movement backplate

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
