A French four glass mantel clock. An enamel dial with 'moon' blued steel hands. A brass case with bevelled glass panels. A mercury compensating pendulum. An 8-day duration mechanism by Japay Freres striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell. Circa 1890.
