Japanese Meiji Period IVory Shibayama Daikoku Netsuke

A beautiful Japanese Meiji period ivory netsuke in the form of Daikoku carrying a huge sack over his shoulder, shibayama inlaid with mother of pearl hands and hardstone hat and scarf finished with two shell tablets and a silver mouse coming out of the sack. This charming netsuke is further shibayama decorated on the reverse depicting Daikoku’s money mallet and is signed on the underside, apart from one of the himotoshi missing a rim this netsuke is in excellent condition.
