An antique silver pocket watch with silver albert.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case backs for London (import mark), 1918, together with importer’s initials AGR. In 1907, an act came into force which meant that all imported watches had to be assayed in a UK assay office and marked with British import hallmarks. For this, a sponsor's mark was required. In this particular case, Arthur Rendell was an employee, and probably in charge, of the department that handled imported watches at a company called Pringles, the UK's largest wholesalers of jewellery, silverware, clocks and watches, so it was deemed relevant to use his initials. The front of the case is in good condition while the back has an indentation.

The watch glass is in good condition.

The white enamel dial has a faint hairline running from number 8 to the sub seconds dial. Blued steel hands and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a single silver chain which measures 28cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. Each of the graduated links has the lion passant silver mark and one has the Chester mark, 1921.
