Description

A French 19th Century Kingwood Jardiniere With Sevres Plaques signed Vervelle Audot, 1 Rue Montmorency Feydeau, Paris. The jardiniere is of serpentine outline and veneered in kingwood with parquetry rosewood detail. With sevres oval porcelain plaques to the front and reverse and with finely cast ormolu mounts throughout. Supported on ormolu mounted cabriole supports, complete with the original metal liner. France circa 1880-1900

Dimensions: 25" wide x 16" deep x 30" high

"Vervelle Audot, 1 rue Montmorency Feydeau Paris". Cabinet maker, manufacturer and furniture dealer, Audot held in 1825 a store Neuve-Montmorency street in Paris before taking back in 1856 Vervelle House . He created all kind of small pieces of furniture, boxes and caskets, liqueurs cellars and nécessaires. He also participated at the exhibitions of products of the industry in 1827, 1844 and 1855. Several furniture drawings realised by Maison Vervelle are in the Decorative Arts Museum in Paris
