Drop leaves are level and open smoothly and are supported on original mahogany flies. No damage or significant marks, exemplary original condition throughout and has not been re-finished or repolished – which is a big plus. The coromandal crossbanding is particularly high quality and the proportions and this elegant design would indicate a London maker and dates the table to around 1820. Sofa tables are particularly sought after, and the best of kind command high prices
The piece came from a private estate and has some provenance.
Dimensions are: 28 inches high, 26 inches deep, 38.5 inches wide when leaves are dropped, 59 inches wide with leaves extended. From floor to lowest edge of frieze is 23.5 inches.
