This inlaid mahogany desk is cerainly a good looking example, and a very neat size at 40 ins wide. In good tidy and clean condition it has string inlays around the drawer fronts and on the top with two further shell inlays as can be seen in the pictures. The drawers are all hardwood lined and have brass swan neck handles with fretted back plates. The top has a pen rack and two inks, these have been replaced over the years. The nine drawer desk sits on neat ogee bracket feet. Made around 1900 this is in a Sheraton style and is good quality and would look impressive in many a location. The back is panelled and clean, so it is not imperative that this desk is up against a wall.
