Hagemans was born in Antwerp in 1884 and died in Uccle in 1959. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Brussels with Isidore Verheyden and Hermen Richer. His career was varied and he was interested in oils, watercolors and lithography. He also worked on the stained glass windows of the Port au Prince Cathedral in Haiti. Hagemans came from a long line of painters, including his father and brother. He is listed in the Dictionary of Belgium painters and achieves good prices at auction.
