1920s Silver Hunter Pocket Watch, Urania Watch Co

A 1920s silver full hunter pocket watch by the Urania Watch Company.

The watch has a high grade signed stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover, upon which is a 1938 inscription to Reverend Pearson of St Ninians Church in Greenock.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case backs for Birmingham 1928 with a case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison of the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific watch case manufacturer who supplied cases for many companies. Overall the case is in good condition, just some surface marking and a little unevenness.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is glass lens which is in lovely condition. The white enamel dial looks good to the naked eye… if you look closely, there is a little marking next to number 1 but nothing serious. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a single watch chain, 31cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The chain has as being silver but is unhallmarked. The chain weighs 31.6g.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
