Georgian Bilston Enamel Oval Tea Caddy. Circa 1775

Description

Very rare George III South Staffordshire or Bilston enamel tea caddy of oval form with hinged ogee shaped lid with brass ax head handle to top. Beautifully hand decorated all over with birds in landscape and flowers. In superb un-touched original condition with only the smallest of chips under top rim of base section - hardly noticeable. Very rarely seen item.

Size; 5" wide, 5.5" high (excluding handle). 2.5" deep.
