A harlequin (close matching) set of 10 18th century provincial chairs made from ash and elm. On the right of the photograph are a set of 6 and to the left are 2 pairs. We believe the same workshop made all of the chairs but not at the same time, there are slight differences but these are only noticeable on closer inspection. The chairs have multiple stretchers which always give extra strength, whilst not being heavy. Most chairs have their original patina and the condition is excellent given their age. Difficult to get a set of 10 chairs that match so closely.
