Victorian Cut Glass Claret Jug, Circa 1890

Description

A lovely English Victorian cut glass and silver plated claret jug. The body has diamond shaped cutting with a star cut base and the pouring spout has the head of Bacchus embossed below lip. The handle has beautifully embossed decoration. Circa 1890.

Measurements:

Height: 11" (approx 27.5cm)

Length (handle to spout): 5 1/2" (approx 13.75cm)

Diameter across base: 3 3/4" (approx 9.5cm)

Total weight: 954g

In good condition - any dark areas are shadows from the photography, there is no damage to the silver plate and no chips or cracks to glass.
