Interesting pair of mid C19th ebonised frame stools with needlework covers, in C17th Indo-Portuguese Colonial style.

Highly decorative pair of ebonised base stools with stylised cabriole legs with faceted sides ,terminating in well-carved lion's paw claw feet , joined by turned cross stretchers with a central roundel .

The tops and deep frieze sides upholstered and covered with original decorative geometric design needlework covers with deep-frilled braid edge details .

Excellent condition throughout.

Some minor wear to ebonised feet , which could be refinished if desired.

Useful pair of stools to add a feel of period Colonial style and exoticism to an interior scheme
