Pair of Antique Swedish Satin Birch Biedermeier Armchairs

Description

Pair of antique Swedish Biedermeier satin birch armchairs that have just come over from Sweden, been re-polished & re-upholstered in a neutral coloured fabric. The silky looking satin birch on these chairs is particularly striking in relation to the grain of wood & typical of this wood it gives off light & dark shades. These chairs also have ebonised laurels & ball shaped finials, Trafalgar backs, scroll over arms & sabre legs. I would date these chairs to around the 1890-1910 period, although they could be older & they are in excellent condition.
