An Extremely Rare Victorian Silver Candle Snuffer.

An extremely rare silver candle snuffer from the early Victorian period. This splendid example has a barley twist whale bone (baleen) handle, with a silver terminal. The steeple shaped snuffer is hallmarked and has a handsome crest to the front. Antique silver candle snuffers are always in demand as they are somewhat scarce and this is a fine and usable example.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents, splits or losses to the silver. The handle has some chips and losses which is to be expected given that the material is both soft and a natural product. All commensurate with age and use.
