A fine & original cast iron Eagle & Eaglets mechanical money bank c.1883 by J & E Stevens, the mother bird holds a coin in her beak and to operate the leaver at the end is depressed which dips the birds head, raises the wings, and opens her beak to deposit the coin, the eaglets rise and open their beaks at the same time. This charming early American toy money bank has a lovely patina and the mother eagle retains its original eyes, it is stamped on the underside and apart from missing the plug on the underside it is in excellent working order.
